I am thrilled and honored to announce that I have been awarded a prestigious Senior Fellowship funded by Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald at the Universität Greifswald for the academic year 2025/2026! 🎉 This distinction is particularly remarkable as only a handful of Senior Fellowships were awarded from over 100 applications worldwide. This opportunity will allow me to conduct my research at the Institute of Pharmacy, in the Pharmaceutical Biology group led by Prof. Sebastian Günther, and to fully engage in the academic life of Greifswald – a renowned center of excellence in research and higher education. My research project will focus on the role of cellulose – the most abundant natural polymer – in influencing biofilms formed by multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli 🧫 🧪 🔬 🧬 . We aim to investigate the effects of different cellulose forms on bacterial growth, metabolism, and pathogenic potential, paving the way for innovative strategies to combat the escalating issue of antibiotic resistance 💊 🥼 . This is a tremendous honor and challenge, but also an incredible opportunity to contribute to scientific progress in such a crucial field. I am proud to represent Akademia Ekonomiczno-Humanistyczna w Warszawie in this prestigious program. Ten prestiżowy program umożliwi mi realizację badań w Institute of Pharmacy, w grupie Pharmaceutical Biology prof. Sebastiana Günthera, a także pełne uczestnictwo w życiu akademickim Greifswaldu – ośrodka naukowego o uznanej międzynarodowej renomie. Mój projekt badawczy dotyczy wpływu celulozy – najpowszechniejszego polimeru w przyrodzie – na biofilmy tworzone przez wielolekooporne szczepy Escherichia coli 🧫 🧪 🔬 🧬. Skupimy się na analizie wzrostu, metabolomu i potencjalnej patogeniczności bakterii w obecności różnych form celulozy, co może otworzyć nowe ścieżki w walce z narastającym problemem antybiotykooporności 💊 🥼. Jest to dla mnie ogromny zaszczyt i wyzwanie, ale także szansa na znaczący wkład w rozwój nauki w tak kluczowym obszarze.
