["Exclusive" Daewoo E&C Has the Most New Apartments Exceeding Radon Standard Last Year] Among the newly built apartments last year, Daewoo E&C was the construction company with the most properties that failed to meet the radon standard (148 Bq/m³). Radon is a Group 1 carcinogen as designated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization (WHO). According to data received by Rep. Noh Woong-rae of the Democratic Party from the Ministry of Environment on the 27th, 58 apartment complexes were found to exceed the radon detection limit of 148 becquerels (Bq/m³) last year. Among these, Daewoo E&C had the most with 7 complexes, followed by Seohui Construction (6), Taeyoung Construction (5), Daebang Construction (5), Lotte Engineering & Construction (4), POSCO Engineering & Construction (4), and others. HDC Hyundai Industrial Development (3), Woome Construction (3), Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction (2), SK Eco Plant (2), GS Engineering & Construction (1), Hoban Construction (1), and Sambuto Construction (1) were also on the list.
