A mistake I often see founders make is trying to be everything to everyone. At a glance it makes sense. Solving more problems for more people means more adoption for your app, right? Not necessarily… The key to long-term user adoption is providing solutions faster and better than competitors. But that gets exponentially harder when you go from competing to solve one problem, to solving many. You spread your team of 10 across multiple products trying to be an all-in-one while others in your market dedicate 10 people to one solution. Not only that, but it’s confusing for your users too. There’s nothing wrong with expanding your product offering as you grow, but when you’re getting your foot in the door and trying to capture market share it’s always best to niche down and focus on providing an exceptional experience for the few, instead of an ok experience for the many. What do you think? Niche down or go for the masses?
