Last week our Air Medical crews in South Africa had a remarkable training day with updates on snakebite management, envenomation, and administration of antivenom. Thank you to Johan Marais from the African Snakebite Institute for an incredibly insightful session. As part of our commitment to exceptional patient care, Air Rescue Africa is the only Air Ambulance provider in Africa that maintains and has available the necessary snake antivenoms to ensure that we can deliver immediate care when faced with a snake envenomation case. Need EMS and Flight crew insights!! Regardless of fire-, hospital-, or municipal based crews (commercial, too) and my flight crew paramedics and nurses-- What is the largest endotracheal tube that you carry, and in what quantity? is it 8.5 or 9.0? Also, do you have a separate pediatric airway kit, or a separate overall pediatric bag, or is that stuff lumped in with a 50-pound med bag carried in or on all calls? Please include insights any of your critical care teams may have. I welcome all opinions. If your agency has made changes, what rationale or data drove your decisions? #MikeChanat ☕️😁👍 (please click and follow) #EMS #FlightMedicine #paramedics #CriticalCare
