AIP Management’s Post

He Dreiht (or “It Spins”), one of AIP Management’s investments, is set to become Germany’s largest offshore wind farm, powering 1.1 million homes and offsetting over 2.7 million tonnes of CO2 annually. Following the successful construction of the project’s foundations in 2024, it’s now moving into its next stages: installing 120 km of underwater cables and 110 km on land as well as stationing 64 V236 Vestas turbines, each capable of generating 15 MW. While passing through Hamburg’s city centre, AIP’s Simon Sigurd Henriksen and Allison Metzak noted that each individual blade installed at He Dreiht is almost the same length as the 125-metre spire of St. James’ Church. Just as the church stands as a lasting symbol of Hamburg’s history, He Dreiht is set to become the cornerstone of the European renewable energy space, powering communities, reducing emissions and shaping the future of energy security. We look forward to progressing the project into the next phases of development this Spring. AIP has invested into He Dreiht alongside partners Allianz, Norges Bank and majority owners EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG. AIP is one of the leading investors in European offshore wind having invested in projects enabling more than 4 GW of offshore renewable energy capacity.
