We had the privilege of hosting this event last night. Thank you so much to Lucie Kim, Carrie Ingoglia, Ariba Jahan, YuJune Park, Ida Woldemichael, and Yukino Moore for an amazing, insightful and powerful conversation. We were lucky to be in the room with you.
Is Balance Bullish*t? This is just one of one of the many topics we discussed last night at the AIGA New York Fresh Dialogue Conversation: Motherhood & the Creative Industry. Lucie Kim, Founder and Creative Director of MyORB, alongside her longtime collaborator Carrie Ingoglia, engaged in a thought-provoking exchange with Ariba Jahan of Anomaly, YuJune Park of Parsons School of Design - The New School, Ida Woldemichael of The New York Times, and Yukino Moore currently with Vogue. We explored the challenges and superpowers that mothers bring to the creative field and talked about the contrasts between freelance and corporate life, the importance of flexible work environments, and the evolving role of leadership. We also discussed the support systems we are fortunate to have, or in some cases, lack, and, most importantly, how we want to reshape this conversation in society. A recording will be available, and we are already talking about a 2.0 version. Let’s keep the conversation going and show some support for mothers and their unparalleled creativity and leadership expertise. Thank you Stacey Panousopoulos for putting this together and for Parsons School of Design - The New School for hosting us. #Creativity #Discussion #Leadership #Women
