Look Before You Donate! It's that magical time of year when you may be thinking about making a few financial donations to help your community.... Don't forget two things: (1) Before you donate, make good decisions about the financial quality of the organization. You can quickly and easily look them up on GuideStar. This will tell you how much of the money you donate actually serves their mission. Or more importantly, how much it does not. https://lnkd.in/gvWcJjeM (2) Chose wisely. There are thousands of great local organizations. Look them up! Look for this seal before you give.

A few sobering stats from the "Household Food Insecurity in Canada, 2022"◽ report: ◾ 22.9% of households in Newfoundland and Labrador experienced some degree of food insecurity in the previous 12 months, amounting to 116,000 people. ◾ This is the highest rate in any of the ten provinces in Canada. ◾ 28.8% of children under 18 in Newfoundland and Labrador lived in food-insecure households. Since 2022, NLCU has held its annual NLCU Fall Food Drive to help support individuals and families in Newfoundland and Labrador who experience food insecurity to get the nourishment they need. Please donate if you can. Between now and October 31, drop by your local NLCU branch to make a donation. ------ ◽ Li T, Fafard St-Germain AA, Tarasuk V. Today sees the launch of my latest challenge: The December JOY Challenge. And what better way to start it than with this wonderful crew supporting Michelle O'Dwyer ‘s Christmas Day Community Dinner fundraiser. 😁 Link in shared post xx Festive JOY Challenge 🎄 Day 1: December JOY Challenge 🎄 This will harness the power of positive psychology with daily prompts to boost your well-being and foster a joyful mindset but also, come on you know the drill, ensure that, no matter how bleak, how dark, how cold or wet it is for this month of December, we are lacing up, getting out and moving our bodies. Every. Single. Day. 🧑🎄 I’ve used the word JOY for this one as an acronym to guide your journey through the three key areas of this challenge. 🧠 J = Journaling & Reflection Take a moment to reflect on something that brings you joy right now. What’s one thing that has recently made you smile or feel grateful? Write it down and take a mental snapshot of that positive feeling. Better still snap and share it here. And don’t forget the usual 1-2-3: 1:win 2: character strengths used 3:gratitudes DAILY ❤️ 🚶♂️ O = Outdoors & Movement Get outside for at least 20 minutes of movement. Whether it’s a walk, jog, or simple stretches in nature, the fresh air and physical activity will help boost your mood and energy. 📚 Y = You-Inspired Media Consume something that uplifts or inspires you today. Whether it’s a motivational podcast, an uplifting book, or a favorite TED talk, or this week’s RISE episode where we talk about the power of social connection with Michelle ODwyer from the accompanying reel and let it spark positivity and set the tone for your day. Let’s make this December a month of reflection, movement, and inspiration. Ready to spread some JOY and experience a season of well-being? 🎉 #Decemberjoychallenge #PositivePsychology #MentalWellBeing #Joy #Outdoors #Inspiration #Gratitude #SelfCare #PersonalGrowth

As many of you know, Dave & I are passionate board members for Kids In The Middle (KITM) which supports families going through divorce. Today kicks off our 24 hour annual Giving 4 Kids campaign and we are asking for your support. KITM serves 2,000+ children and families through their counseling services. Today we are hoping to gain additional support for our programs. To learn more about KITM, visit the website: https://lnkd.in/gC8WQRKK. We are seeking your financial donation to provide much needed mental health services for children experiencing the trauma of divorce and separation. All donations are DOUBLED for the next 24 hours thanks to our matching donors! That means if you donate $5 it turns into $10, $100 turns into $200- you get it. No gift is too small and donations are tax-deductible. In Missouri, tax credits are 50% monetary back in the form of a MO state tax credit. This is an ALL or nothing campaign, which means that we must raise the full $100,000 by Thursday May 2 at 2pm CST. As a board, we also like to make this a challenge (of course 😊) so please indicate Team Teal when making a donation to indicate the team we represent. To make a donation: https://lnkd.in/g6ezkAcb We truly appreciate your support.
GIVING 4 KIDS is LIVE! All donations made in the next 24 hours will be DOUBLED. Your donation goes even further to help support children and families in the St. Louis community. Help us raise $100,000! Donate now! https://lnkd.in/gGPcjHeC
