Rosenthal cautions that when launching a new network or protocol, there will be a set of airdrop farmers who create fake activity and congestion on the network. I was recently lucky enough to travel to Tallinn courtesy of the wonderful people at Yolo Group. In addition to gaining an insight into various aspects of the business and what impressive developments the company has coming up, among much more, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Yolo Investments' Mark Robinson in a wide ranging discussion. In the first of two-part special (link one below), the focus is firmly on investment strategies within the igaming and fintech arenas, the challenge of payments and the movement of money and strategies deployed to ensure sustained success, to name a few. Here’s a brief snippet: “In general, we don’t jump every time somebody mentions AI or machine learning, if anything we’re more sceptical. It becomes commonplace to add the current hyped nugget somewhere in the pitch deck, or mention it at random times during investor calls. We have a pretty good understanding of which areas we can add value in. If the trend aligns with our narrative, then we’re happy to invest or to at least leverage that into a larger ecosystem to become clients/partners with the potential future investment as well.” Part two (coming next week) adopts a much more market focused approach to cover current conditions and the next generation operators that are targeting a new age player, as well as looking in more detail at Europe, the US, Brazil and the UAE.
