President leading global business relationships at ACME Engineering Products

ACME Engineering Products is saddened to announce the passing of our president and co-founder, Steve Presser. Acme was created in partnership with Steve’s father, Jacob in 1956 and they worked together until Jacob’s death in 1974. Beginning as an importer and distributor of European plumbing and HVAC controls, Acme began manufacturing electric hot water and steam boilers in the 1960s and gas detection equipment in the 1970s. Always an innovator, under his leadership he was a pioneer in the promotion of electrode boilers in the 1980s in Quebec, taking advantage of attractive electricity rates for large commercial, industrial and institutional consumers. Together with his son Robert since 1993, Acme added the manufacturing of automatic strainers for water and wastewater filtration. Together, they expanded Acme's operations overseas with a joint venture in India and technology partnerships in China and Europe. Always treating his employees with respect and affection, he considered all of them as his Acme family. He leaves behind a rich legacy of technical and commercial achievement and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues and clients.
