The typical technical interview only ensures that someone has done a good job memorizing data structures and basic coding problems. Supposedly there is a two way conversation where the interviewer is helping the interviewee, who is stressed out by being put on the spot. But let’s face it, this style of interview favors certain types of candidates over others. What’s genius about this approach is that you get an idea of what it is like to work with each other and it also helps to weed out candidates who lied on their resumes.
