Struggling with how much to edit your videos? It’s something we’ve debated for the past 5 years within our team: How much editing is too much? What amount of editing leads to the best ROI? At one point, we were investing hours and hours into intense edits—but now? We often don’t think it’s worth it (with a few exceptions). For most of us, this is what we think is the proper amount of production currently: ✔️ High-quality video (a solid camera angle and good lighting) ✔️ Clear audio ✔️ Subtitles for people to follow along Beyond that? In most instances, done is better than perfect. Raw, unpolished, and authentic clips often outperform the highly edited ones anyway. People appreciate realness over perfection.

Editing = Decision making The #timeline is where you make a lot of key decisions about the video what stays in, what gets cutout, what comes next. It's like a puzzle where you decide which pieces fit together best. Each choice you make affects the flow and pacing of the final piece. The timeline has different tracks like audio, video and effects each of which works like its own channel. These different layers run parallel to each other but interact in unique ways. Imagine 😂 it is like a multi layered cake. Each track adds a different flavor, and when it all comes together, it creates a full experience. 🤟 #videoediting #editingtimeline #postproduction #editingtips #timeline #videoproduction #filmediting #videoeditorlife
