This week, I’m in Los Angeles attending the 69th Beavers Awards Dinner, an event that celebrates excellence in the construction industry—a cornerstone of progress and resilience. Recently, I read that the cost of rebuilding from the devastating fires here in California is expected to exceed $250 billion. That staggering figure is a reminder of the profound challenges we face, but also the critical role the construction industry plays in rebuilding, restoring, and renewing communities. It’s a privilege to serve an industry that doesn’t just construct, but also reclaims, revitalizes, and returns hope to those impacted. In times of devastation, construction isn’t just about bricks and mortar; it’s about bringing life back to neighborhoods, creating safe spaces for families, and paving the way for a brighter future. To everyone in this industry—thank you for the tireless work you do to build back better. Let’s keep making an impact where it matters most.

Exciting news! We're continuing to improve safety in Ravalli County over the next couple of years with two key projects in Hamilton, funded by MDT's Transportation Alternatives program: Marcus Street Shared-Use Path: Over the next year, we'll be providing design and construction management services to the City of Hamilton for this important connectivity project. Daly School Path: Currently in the design phase, this project will connect the community's path network and provide a safe route for students along Golf Course Road and Kurtz Lane. We’re thrilled to be part of making Hamilton more connected!

20 homes on foundations, plants in the ground, and equipment on the playground! Move-in day for wildfire survivors is finally on the horizon. Beyond move-in, we'll set our sights on Phase 2: "Homes for Good is in the process of procuring the 20 Manufactured/Modular homes and once purchased will be working closely with OHCS, Lane County, and assigned case managers to work with individuals and families that were displaced by the Holiday Farm Fire to connect them to this housing opportunity. The project will address inequitable access to high quality housing in low-income rural communities and community revitalization post disaster."

Careno Construction has been busy for the past two months developing a Capital Improvements Plan for the Stratham Memorial School. Working with the Building Committee and School Administration; Careno Construction was able to develop a plan and scope of work that addresses the needs for Additional Education Space, Life Safety and ADA Code Compliance, Increased student safety, Infrastructure repair and Energy upgrades; while meeting the budget target of $12 M.
