Meet A'Myya, a Residential Shift Supervisor! Here are 5 fun facts to know about A'Myya: 1) Her favorite ice cream flavor is Peanut Butter (in a waffle cone). 🍦 🥜 2) One surprising thing people don't know about A'Myya is that she intentionally chooses to be hopeful—a practice that isn’t always easy, but is always worth it! 3) If A'Myya were to choose to be an animal, she would choose to be a bird so that she could feel the most free and fly wherever she wants to go. 🐦 4) For her self-care routine, A'Myya finds it helpful to wind down by listening to instrumentals and journaling to clear out her mind. 🎵 📝 5) When asked whys she loves her job and working at Wedgwood, A'Myya said: "Building bonds with the clients and guiding them in perseverance.' 💛 Want to work with awesome people like A'Myya? My first 'real' job required wearing a tie... at a gas station. 👔⛽ You see, I had plenty of jobs before this - paper boy, lawn mower, warming house attendant - but they were all solo gigs. This gas station job? It was my first real taste of teamwork, and surprisingly, I loved every minute of it. The hierarchy was fascinating: one manager, two assistants, and a mix of shift leaders overseeing different crews. We had our full-timers working M-F days, evening and weekend warriors, part-timers like myself, and the overnight crew - a unique bunch operating in their own world. The job was straightforward: tackle a checklist of tasks while keeping the register covered. I quickly learned that unpredictable customer traffic meant completing tasks early if you wanted to finish your shift on time. Plus, more time for team bonding at the registers. My work ethic earned me a promotion to shift leader - my first taste of leadership. Suddenly, I was handling safe access, large bills, and deposits. The twist? Often managing people much older than me, with zero management training. Talk about learning on the job! Through this experience, I noticed three types of coworkers: 📈 The Achievers - reliable, dedicated, always striving to excel ✅ The Competent - showed up, did their job, nothing more ⁉️ The Slackers - chronically late, incomplete tasks, eventual no-shows But here's what really stuck with me: 🤝 Compromise is essential - the work needs to get done, period 🟰 Treat everyone as teammates - we're all in it together 😜 Keep it fun - it's just work, enjoy the process Who knew a gas station job could provide foundational lessons about leadership and teamwork alongside unlimited fountain drinks! #Leadership #TeamDynamics #CareerLessons #PersonalGrowth What was your first experience leading a team? I'd love to hear your story in the comments below! 👇

"LIFE of an OPS Coordinator: What Does Yours Look Like? (Spoiler: No Fancy Clothes Allowed When Anything Can Pop Up!)" If you know me (personally), you know cleaning is my true passion (don't ask, it's what happens when you're the first female child 😆). Anywho, nevermind… Ever notice that last line on the job description? You know the one—"Any other duties as requested..." Well, let’s just say I’m a master at going above and beyond! Even when it's someone else’s daily task to keep things tidy, guess who steps in? I can’t stand complainers, and I believe everyone deserves that one space to "offload" without distractions (or messes). So, whether it’s literally scrubbing toilets & floors and helping someone with a task on site, I make sure no detail is overlooked! In the meantime, enjoy today's snipping of "Life on site as an Ops Coordinator".💪🧼 #OpsLife #CleaningIsTherapy #AboveAndBeyond #WorkHardStayHumble #LeadershipInEveryDetail #CleaningCommercial #OfficeHumor #PPEAllDay

Today, I came across a job ad that really made me shake my head 🤦♀️. One of my connections is hiring for an EA role, and I wasn’t ready for what I saw: Under “Physical and Mental Requirements,” it listed things like: ➡️ Lifting 50 pounds ➡️ Climbing ladders ➡️ Navigating elevated platforms At first, I thought, Oh, this must be for a warehouse or field engineer role. Nope. It was for an Executive Assistant. Seriously?! It’s honestly disappointing how misunderstood this role still is. EA positions are not about manual labor or safety equipment. These roles are about strategy, executive-level support, and being the right hand of leadership. But instead of recognizing that, some companies keep adding on irrelevant requirements that are just ridiculous 🙄🙂 And that’s why I had to post this to make some awareness. When businesses treat these critical roles so casually, they’re not only devaluing the profession but also harming their workplace culture. The EA/PA profession deserves way better. And honestly, I’m sure that over time, as companies continue to misunderstand this role, many good ones will end up leaving it altogether. Why? Because they’re creating such a wrong perception of the job that they’re ruining it for everyone . What’s the most absurd thing you’ve seen in a job ad? Let’s hear it! 😄

#CareerAdvice #Communication #WorkplaceFrustration Hey everyone! 😊 So, I’m in a bit of a pickle and could really use some advice. Here’s the scoop: I’ve been a patient sitter at my hospital since May, and for the most part, I’ve really enjoyed the job and my colleagues. Recently, I’ve been trying to navigate some communication issues with my supervisor, and it’s been quite the journey. Let me break it down: Started on an informal basis: For the first couple of months, my supervisor didn’t schedule me officially due to a system shift, so I just came in when I could. Access issues: After the new system rolled out, it took me a while to get access to self-scheduling, but we finally got that sorted. Job offer: On October 28th, my supervisor texted me about two night shift positions I had expressed interest in. I replied right away, and she called me later to discuss it further. Great first night shift: I filled in for a night shift on November 22nd and had an amazing e... How Can I Effectively Approach My Unresponsive Supervisor?
