- In managing people, you can expect to have a number of positive and rewarding conversations with your teammates, they can often make your whole job seem worthwhile, but not all the conversations you'll need to have as a manager will be easy. Discussions about difficulties between team members, poor performance or even crises such as harassment may be part of your life as a manager. Before you go into a difficult conversation, first, make sure you've gathered all of the relevant information about the issue.
