Understanding Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

- [Instructor] Okay, so let's go ahead and get started with infrastructure as a service, which is one of the most flexible cloud computing service models. With this model, we have almost full control of the hardware we provision. This flexibility is also it's main disadvantage since we have the entire responsibility of managing and configuring everything. The operating system, network, storage, operating system patches, service packs, backups, security and whatnot. Examples of IaaS services in Azure are virtual machines and virtual machine scale sets. Okay, so here's a practice question for you. You have a desktop app that uses a legacy database. You plan to move the app to the cloud. What would be the best service model for this scenario? Yes, you're right. Infrastructure as a service. This is a great scenario and example of this computing model.
