- [Lecturer] In this sub lesson, we're going to describe the Azure SQL family products including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines. But before we get there, we first want to make sure we have a firm grounding in the difference between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS and discussing what each one of those acronyms means here in detail. So first off, let's start at the lowest level here and describe infrastructure as a service or IaaS. This is a group of cloud computing services that offer essential compute storage and networking resources on demand. So we can see over here on the far right hand side, IaaS includes things like servers and storage, networking firewalls and security, and data center physical plant/building. So this is the actual infrastructure that this type of service can provide you with. Next, let's take a look at platform as a service.
