- When it comes to introducing yourself, I like to say, give them the cupcake. Here's what I mean by that. When it comes to introducing yourself, there's a lot you could say. And what is going to be most important is saying just enough to get people to understand who you are, why you're important in the conversation, and how you might be able to bring value to them. So here's an illustration of that. Imagine that you are buying a cake for a big event and you go to a baker. In order to understand if this is the baker you want to work with, chances are you're not going to ask the baker if you can try everything behind the counter because that would be gluttonous and would possibly take too much time and cost too much money and it wouldn't be worth your while. Instead, the baker is going to help you know that they're the right baker for you by giving you a cupcake, a morceau, something small to taste. And if you like…
