Example of using DataHub OPC with a simulator PLC
- Here is an example of transferring data, from a PLC through an OPC server, and then display them in an OPC client. I'm going to use a simulator PLC, from Connected Components Workbench Software. When you download the software, it comes with a Rockwell OPC DA server, that we can access using any compatible OPC clients. For the OPC client side, I'm going to use Cogent DataHub, to receive, and display the data. I have provided you with this file from Connected Components Workbench Software. You can find it in Chapter two folder. This file, includes one rung PLC program, that when I click on this input address, this output address is activated. The OPC server, is Rockwell IXLCIP Gateway OPC DA. The server runs on the local station. Our computer, in the background, and I can see it in the OPC client directly.
