- [Lecturer] You can use your local installation of Visual Studio Code to create, manage, work, and read Codespaces. To use GitHub Codespaces, this is the code you need to install the Codespaces extension. Use the Visa Studio Code Marketplace to install the GitHub Codespaces extension. After installing the extension, Visa Studio Code, you have two ways to open the codespace inside the ID: The first one is from online codespace editor. You have a menu on the top right with the item called "open a Visa Studio Code." It will be open, a new instance of Visa Studio Code locally, with your codespace up and running. You can see the "icon and status" bar with the status of the remote environment. So, we can now click here on "Open Visa Studio Code" desktop menu item, and then a new instance of Visa Studio Code will be open on my machine.
