- Text is the most common thing that people store in their bases. So let's learn about a few different types of fields that are based on text. As we've discovered, single line text is the default field type for all new fields in Airtable. So it's the one that you'll be seeing the most often. It's designed for short strings of text. On the other hand, long text is designed for lengthier text. My rule of thumb, is that if your text is less than a sentence long, then it should be single line text, but if it's one sentence or more, then it should be long text. Looking at our speaker's table here, the biography field is the perfect field to change into long text. That's because our speaker's biographies are at least a sentence long. So let's widen this field a bit and then let's change this field by right clicking on the header and choosing customized field type. Then we'll change this to long text. We also have the…
