- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at how you actually record a software instrument in garage band. I'm going to record a basic electric piano track here. I already have this classic electric piano track selected and I have my mini keyboard connected to my Mac. So I can just play directly on my keyboard. And I'm going to record a very brief chord progression just to show you how garage band recorded software instruments. Now, first of all, when you record the garage band regardless of what type of instrument you're recording, keeping in time with the template you set is very important. especially if you plan on adding loops to your song later or if you think you might be changing the tempo of the song. if you're not in sync with garage bands tempo, you'll be all out of sync with every loop you add and your song will sound like a mess. To help you keep time garage band has a built in metronome that clicks off beats for you.…
