- [Instructor] So another way to add prerecorded sounds and music to Garageband is by dragging in audio files. This is useful if you, say, found a sound effect on the internet that you want to add to your song, like screeching tires or a plane going by. You can also add musical audio files, but they're a little trickier to work with because you might not know the key and most likely won't know the exact tempo of the music when you bring them in. So you'll have to spend a little time experimenting with the tempo and the key settings to try to match them to the track you brought in, but it can be done. You can import all sorts of audio file formats into Garageband, including AIF files, WAV files, MP3s, and even the Apple Music AAC file format as long as it's not a copy protected AAC file that you bought from the Apple Music Store.
