- [Presenter] Multiple independent voices notated on a single stave are frequently found in classical guitar, keyboard, choral and even drum set parts. Notating multiple voices in Finale uses a function referred to as layers. Let's look at how this works. So I've got open the layers example file and I've put that into scroll view and zoomed in a bit. Let's create a second file to work in. So let's go to file, new and let's go document from template. And I'm going to go into the choir templates folder and I'm going to choose this SATB (2 staff). That's the template with the closest layout to what we're doing here in the example file. So I'll click open and I've already copied the title so I'll paste that in and then I'll drop down a composer. We don't know who that was, so I'll type it unknown.
