- [Narrator] Performance markings have a huge impact on the way instrumentalists and vocalists interpret notated music. Let's look at how you can add expressions to a finale score. So I've got the expression start and expressions example files open. I've tiled the two files, so though I can see both of them simultaneously, and I've put them both in scroll view as we've done in past videos. So if we look at the example file here, all of these text items that we see, like the tempo text, the rehearsal letter, this dynamic, this expressive text that we see here, these are all expressions and can be added to finale scores using the expression tool, now the expression tool looks like the A Mezzo Forte dynamic and we can see it here on the main tool palette. So I'll click that to select it and then I'll move my cursor towards the measure where I want to assign an expression. And as I do that, notice that we get a little arrow…
