- One of my favorite compliments ever received was about my workspace. It came back when I was making an experimental batch of shampoo as a process engineer at my lab bench. I had music playing, a few framed pictures of family and close friends on the counter, and my screensaver was a collage of some of my favorite pictures from trips and vacations over the years. My peer walked in needing to ask a question but before he did, he paused, looked around, and with a smile said, "Wow, it really feels "like Cassandra in here." Those words made my heart sing. I had managed to transform a sterile lab and office space into a unique environment that felt like me. That space invited connection to me.
