- [Instructor] You may hear some people use the term site plan and plot plan interchangeably, but I decided to pull out what I refer to as a plot plan and talk about it separately because to me a plot plan really is a special type of site plan that's often seen in residential construction. In residential construction where a home builder's building out a new subdivision with single family homes you'll often be presented with a set of civil construction drawings that includes an overall site plan like this one where the entire community is laid out and the site plan shows the lot locations and sizes like we looked at earlier but you won't find any information in these civil site drawings that shows you where each individual house is located on each lot.
