- So, before we move on how do we get from what we've learned so far to a complex example such as this? Well, I'm certainly not going to cover that in one lesson, but I can show you what's missing between what we've done so far and what's here. And, the main missing piece of information is about how to create in-between frames. Well, it's a trick question because the truth is that After Effects does this for you. So, what we have here are a number of key frames with gaps in between them. And, in those frames After Effects is actually creating masks that average the position of all the vertices between those two points. It's actually a linear path between them. Now, our skater is not traveling in anything like a linear path and, in fact, each individual part of his body is creating it's own unique path, which is why we've broken this down and given it a hierarchy, as I've shown in another lesson.
