- [Narrator] Segments are an incredibly powerful resource within Google Analytics. You use segments to gather a subset of your data. For example, you have all of your users, but a subset of those users could be those from particular country, or those who made a particular purchase. Segments really let you isolate, and analyze that subset in detail which allows you to better understand the trends within your business. Now, by default when you're navigating Google Analytics, you have a segment enabled and it's the All User segment, but you can apply additional segments. And unlike views, segments are non-destructive which means whenever you apply a segment, you're simply looking at a filtered slice, but you can immediately remove that segment and your data bounces back to the way it was when the segment was not applied.
