- [Instructor] It's one thing to develop a project. It's another thing altogether to manage one in the midst of the early stages of development. Once you have a sense of your client's goals and needs, there comes a time to formalize the agreement and actually do the work of the project. Based on what is outlined in the project goals document and the design brief, the next step is to lay out an understanding of what the project is, through a proposal that will lead to a contract. A contract may sound like an intimidating thing, but in the simplest of terms, it is an agreement about who is going to be responsible for what and by when. The contract will define important elements such as points of contact, what milestones need to be met along the way, the nature and amount of work the parties are agreeing to, and how much it is all going to cost.
