Impulse introduction
- [Instructor] One of the things I like best about Ableton Live are the virtual instruments included with purchase of the program. Let's start by taking a look at Impulse, a simple but surprisingly useful drum instrument that's included with every version of Live 10. So I've opened up exercise one from chapter 12, and let's grab an Impulse preset and load it. So we're going to the Instruments category, the browser, open up Impulse, and let's grab this Impulse 606 preset, and let's drag and drop it onto this first track. So across the top of Impulse there are eight pads. And these eight pads are mapped to the white keys starting at C three up to C four. So this kick sample is on C three and the snare sample on D three, and the high hat sample here on E three, and so on. So you'll notice on each pad, there's a little play button, and that allows you to audition the sound. So let's click that. And on the next one.
