About The Role:

We are currently searching for Summer Interns who are passionate about consumer and brand public relations to join our team in the Chicago office. This position will encompass a wide array of responsibilities, with a focus on supporting programs and initiatives for our consumer clients. We are looking for a start date of June 2, 2025.

Responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Work closely with account team members from Assistant Account Executives to Vice Presidents to develop & deliver key client deliverables.
  • Support in the creation of client presentations, including but not limited to ideation, strategy and recapping.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities for 1-3 accounts.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
  • Manage event logistics and provide day-of-event on-site support as needed.

Media Relations:

  • Draft media materials, including but not limited to press releases, fact sheets, briefing sheets, recaps and pitches.
  • Hone media relations skills including media list development and actively pitch media across verticals including but not limited to: consumer lifestyle, food and beverage, home, design, entertainment and sports.
  • Perform daily media monitoring and tracking.
  • Assist with creating and distributing mailers, press kits, and briefing kits.

Research & Strategy:

  • Conduct research to aid in the strategy development process for current clients and new business pitches.
  • Participate in new business brainstorming and creative ideation.
  • Trend-spotting and staying up-to-date on the media landscape.

Provide administrative and operational support as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work with a team to meet group objectives.
  • Demonstrated interest in news, social media trends, and pop culture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills, are a must.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong digital skills and ability to learn new platforms such as Muck Rack and Cision.



Pay: $18/Hour USD.

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
