DIS is currently seeking Sterile Processing Technicians to join our DIS Health functional area. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare or public health-related industries with a focus on medical sterilization procedures and protocols. Preferred candidates would have experience working with veterans.

This position will have the option of supporting on site either at: Cheyenne VAMC located at 2360 East Pershing Blvd. Cheyenne, WY 82001 or the Northern Colorado VA Outpatient Clinic located at 4575 Byrd Dr., Loveland, CO 80538.

This person will possess a keen understanding of the federal health clinic's policies, regulations, and structure. The ideal candidate will have a desire and ambition to provide the best-in-class service and support to all of our clients and DIS team members. Someone who possesses the ability to be diplomatic, accommodating, and adaptable to changing work environments and project scopes.

Essential Duties

• The Sterile Processing Tech inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets.
• Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies.
• Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of instrument processing experience required at a proficient level in all areas including sterilization and set assembly
• CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification.

• Frequently required to sit and work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time of up to 8 hours a day.
• While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
• Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment.

Salary Is Commensurate With Experience.
