Staff Accountant

A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking a new Staff Accountant for a great Remote opportunity with their growing team.

About the Opportunity:

• Start Date: May 5
• Assignment Length: Ongoing (temp to perm possibility)
• Hours: 40 per week (flexible; can work anytime, but must get work done)

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accrual accounting in QuickBooks Online
• Conduct general ledger account reconciliations, including Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Generate financial reports as required and analyze financial statements
• Support management with special projects and tasks
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of relevant Accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Expertise in QuickBooks Online, including all related functions and tasks
• Strong understanding of GAAP and Accrual Accounting
• Experience in preparing Financial Statements
• Microsoft Office proficient (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
• Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
