Cost Accountant

Our very successful growing manufacturing client located in Davie Florida is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. They are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to become part of their dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the organization’s financial well-being and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, especially in manufacturing environments, with expertise in QuickBooks Online, inventory management systems, and GAAP.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Conduct account reconciliations, including for bank and general ledger accounts.
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring accurate recording, prompt payments, and timely collections.
• Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
• Work closely with the operations team to track and manage inventory, including cost analysis and adjustments.
• Generate and review financial statements, offering valuable insights to management.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, company policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Assist with external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Contribute to process improvements aimed at streamlining accounting workflows and enhancing reporting efficiency.

Experience You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience
• Required proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems a plus!
• Experience in monthly close processes, reconciliations, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.
• Solid understanding of AP/AR processes and journal entry preparation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.
• Excellent communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
