Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in New York, NY. Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Senior Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including cash, payroll accruals, and treasury-related accounts
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records to maintain data accuracy
• Collaborate with management to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
• As a Senior Accountant, you will utilize accounting software for entries, reporting, and reconciliations
• Support process controls and efficiency initiatives
• Work with internal teams to ensure financial controls and compliance
• Assist with audit preparation and provide support to external auditors
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA certification or CPA firm experience is a plus but not required
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with NetSuite required
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reconciliation processes
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas)
• Strong problem-solving mindset-must be inquisitive, analytical, and process-driven
• Ability to analyze large sets of financial data and identify inconsistencies
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
