The Position: Under the direction of the Regional Manager of Patient Access, the Supervisor of Patient Access provides day-to-day oversight of the Patient Access team. This includes administering policies, business processes, quality standards, and performance measurement criteria of the Patient Access team. Responsibilities include:
Provides daily support/guidance to direct reports.
Oversees and conducts team staffing, coaching, accountability, annual reviews, and performance improvement plans.
Evaluates workload and adjusts staffing to fit program needs by assigning referrals and delegating tasks to team members.
Assist, as needed with workload tasks such as benefit verification, prior authorization, reauthorization/reverification and patient calls to ensure turnaround times are met
Serves as a point of escalation for calls requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve customer issues.
Conducts candidate sourcing (with HR recruitment), interviews, hiring, and onboarding.
Facilitates intradepartmental communications to national intake and branch staff.
Analyze referral trends, new products, specialty product shortages, access solutions.
Participates as a member of cross functional workgroups, teams, and committees as assigned.
Completes all required duties, projects, and reports in a timely fashion on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis per the direction of the leadership.
Completes all necessary managerial tasks for direct reports including hiring, training, holding meetings, addressing performance issues, and approving payroll.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30-5 Eastern
Back-up to on-call
Requirements
At least 3 years of specialty pharmacy or home infusion pharmacy with acute therapies
Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Previous healthcare management is required.
Previous medical and pharmacy benefit experience is required.
At least 3 years of experience applying knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care reimbursement guidelines.
Ability to interpret payor contract fee schedules based on NDC and HCPCS units.
Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities within a changing environment.
