Mechanical Design Engineer

Immediate position available for a Mechanical Machine Designer for the design of various automated equipment & material handling systems. Candidate should possess 5+ years of experience in designing special custom machinery and automated equipment utilizing 3D Solid modeling software - i.e., SOLIDWORKS.

Additionally, candidates should be proficient in detailing & checking drawings, as well as developing machine layouts. Candidate should possess skills in blueprint reading, GD&T tolerance specifications, and have general knowledge in designs using "Electro-Mechanical" Components, as well as Pneumatic & Hydraulic Components.

Candidate should possess effective communication skills necessary to interact with both customers and peers; and as required, the designer will work with Sales & Estimating departments to assist in developing Concept Designs and Plant Layout drawings for RFQ proposals & Sales presentations.

Candidate must have strong abilities in analyzing equipment designs & providing creative problem-solving solutions to manufacturing processes. Candidate should be able to multi-task, and work under pressure to keep projects on track, and within cost budgets; as well as meet scheduled completion deadlines and customer commitments.

SKILLS That Are a Plus For This Job

  • AUTOCAD Software Experience, and Project Managing Experience, a (Plus+).
  • Knowledgeable in “Electro-mechanical” components + Calculations (i.e., servo-drives, VFD, LVDT systems, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable in Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems + Calculations (i.e., cylinders, valves, switches, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable in Applications using Robotics & Vision systems.

Familiarity with aspects of System Controls (i.e., PLCs, HMI Panels, switches, safety systems, etc.
