Responsibilities And Duties
Strategic Leadership
Drive technology roadmap development and strategic planning for IoT hardware initiatives
Lead cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and manufacturing
Make critical decisions that shape multi-year product development cycles
Collaborate with data analytics teams to ensure hardware capabilities meet AI/ML requirements
Technical Leadership
Spearhead the development of digital twin models and simulation systems
Guide embedded systems development using ARM Linux environments
Lead hardware development including circuitry, power systems, and wireless communications
Ensure product excellence through EVT/DVT testing and certification processes
Operational Leadership
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing product lines
Implement and optimize Agile development processes
Manage resource allocation and team development
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
Required Abilities And Skills
Proven track record leading successful IoT product developments, concept to mass production.
Familiarity with utility-grade metering protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet) preferred.
Understanding of energy measurement standards and certifications preferred.
Track record of successful product launches in regulated environments preferred.
Education And Experience
10+ years of embedded systems and IoT development experience, with 5+ years in engineering management
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
Expert knowledge of:
Embedded systems development (ARM Linux environments)
Digital twin modeling and simulation
Wireless protocols (Cellular, BLE, WiFi)
C/C++, Python, and Linux development environments
Hardware-software integration in Agile environments
Supply chain management and component lifecycle
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
Hardware development lifecycle (HDLC) methodologies
Experience with:
Embedded security best practices and secure boot implementations
Over-the-air (OTA) update systems
Power optimization for battery-operated devices
EMC/EMI design considerations
Experience with energy monitoring/metering systems, particularly ANSI C12.20 accuracy standards preferred.
International team management experience preferred.
Experience with AI/ML data requirements for IoT deployments preferred.
Experience with global regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, UL, ANSI) preferred.
Travel
Up to 10% travel is expected to engage with remote teams, customers, and/or technology suppliers.
