IT Asset Manager


The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets within Plymouth Rock. This includes managing asset inventories, ensuring software compliance, optimizing costs, and mitigating risks associated with IT assets. The role plays a critical function in aligning IT asset management practices with business goals to maximize efficiency, control expenditures, and ensure regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities:


Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Develop and implement asset management strategies for hardware and software assets from acquisition to retirement.
  • Monitor and manage the deployment, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets.
  • Optimize asset usage and proactively plan for replacements and upgrades to prevent operational disruptions.

Asset Inventory and Documentation

  • Maintain a centralized repository of all IT assets, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Utilize asset management tools such as Easy Vista ITAM for tracking and reporting.
  • Work with IT and procurement teams to ensure consistency in asset records across departments.

Software License Management

  • Track and manage software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Optimize software usage and reduce unnecessary expenditures.
  • Assist in audits by providing accurate and detailed software asset records.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure IT assets align with internal policies, industry regulations, and security standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to unauthorized software usage, license violations, and asset vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with security teams to support IT governance initiatives.

Strategic Planning and Decision-Making

  • Provide insights and recommendations on cost-saving opportunities and asset optimization strategies.
  • Forecast future asset needs based on business growth and technological advancements.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support executive decision-making.

Vendor and Contract Management

  • Work with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate contracts for hardware and software assets.
  • Ensure vendor agreements align with organizational needs and cost-efficiency goals.

Periodic Reporting

  • Generate regular reports on asset utilization, cost analysis, compliance status, and lifecycle progress.
  • Present findings and recommendations to IT leadership and key stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in IT, Business, or a related field.
  • Certifications: IT Asset Management Foundation Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years in IT asset management within a corporate environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of Easy Vista ITAM is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager).
  • Understanding of software licensing agreements and compliance requirements.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours as needed.
