Base pay range
$30.00/hr - $35.00/hr
The Grant Accountant is responsible for the financial management and accounting of grants received by the organization. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, compliance monitoring, and auditing of grant funds. The Grant Accountant will work closely with program managers and other stakeholders to ensure that grant funds are used efficiently and in accordance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Financial Management:
Oversee the financial tracking and management of grant funds.
Ensure that all grant-related expenses comply with the terms and conditions of the grant agreement.
Develop and maintain budgets for each grant, ensuring funds are allocated and spent according to the approved budget.
Prepare and process financial transactions related to grants, including invoicing and payments.
Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for grantors and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with grant regulations, policies, and accounting standards.
Assist with the preparation and submission of grant financial reports to funding agencies and stakeholders.
Monitor and track grant expenditures, ensuring they align with the budget and grant requirements.
Audit Support:
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation related to grants.
Prepare and maintain records for audits and reviews by external auditors.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on grants or nonprofit accounting.
Knowledge of financial reporting and compliance for government or private grants.
Familiarity with grant management software and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel).
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
