Executive Director, Business Operations

What You’ll Do

The Business Operations department aims to drive enterprise-wide operational excellence by creating scalable, transformative efficiencies that align with long-term strategic goals and enable sustainable growth. This team champions innovation in processes, tools, and structures—leveraging the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) to empower employees to deliver industry-leading solutions for our clients.

As the Executive Director, you will oversee the Business Operations function. You will partner with department leaders across the agency, including finance, IT, people operations, and client teams, to implement strategic initiatives that enhance organizational performance, increase operational efficiencies, and accelerate business transformation and the use of emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning. You will lead a broader portfolio of high-impact projects and serve as a key driver of change management. Additionally, you will guide a team of senior leaders and managers to continuously refine systems, reporting, and processes to optimize outcomes while fostering a culture of responsible innovation, agility, and accountability.

A Day in the Life

Deliverables

  • Define and execute a cohesive multi-year operational strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term growth and innovation objectives
  • Identify opportunities to modernize operations and eliminate inefficiencies through advanced technologies and scalable process improvements
  • Spearhead change management initiatives to ensure enterprise-wide adoption of transformation strategies and deliver measurable results
  • Establish clear KPIs and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights to leadership, leveraging advanced analytics to anticipate trends and inform decisions
  • Evaluate and implement proprietary and licensed AI tools and processes to enhance productivity, track progress, and quantify the impact of initiatives

Internal Responsibility and Management

  • Develop advanced reporting frameworks and analytics efforts that identify trends, anticipate challenges, and inform actionable recommendation
  • Build a collaborative, results-driven team culture that fosters innovation, professionalism, and operational excellence
  • Act as the executive liaison, ensuring seamless alignment between leadership and cross-functional teams to operationalize business strategies
  • Partner with senior executives, including finance, IT, and HR, to address ongoing operational challenges and design forward-thinking solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership and client teams to implement business strategies that enhance retention and drive organizational growth
  • Ensure proposals and strategies are communicated effectively to secure executive alignment and commitment
  • Cultivate a collaborative, results-driven team culture that fosters innovation, AI fluency, and operational excellence

Other duties may be assigned to help drive deliverables within this role.


What You Must Have

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience leading operational and/or transformational initiatives, including 5+ years in a senior leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience successfully driving change in fast-paced, rapidly evolving industries
  • Experience managing large teams, including mentoring senior-level direct reports

Skills and Competencies

  • Visionary leadership with a proven ability to drive enterprise-wide transformations aligned with strategic growth
  • Expertise in operational efficiency, process improvement, and change management.
  • Advanced analytical abilities with proficiency in business intelligence tools to guide data-driven decisions
  • Exemplary communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire executives and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead AI-powered transformations, improve processes, and manage complex, deadline-driven projects

What You Might Have, but Isn’t Required

  • PMP Certification or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Hands-on experience implementing ERP systems or other enterprise-wide platforms
  • Knowledge of Workfront, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or similar collaborative tools

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international)

You will lead the Business Operations team and collaborate regularly with our C-Suite leadership, IT, People Operations, and Finance. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams to ensure operational strategies are effectively integrated across the organization.

Salary offers are based upon several factors including experience, education, skills, training, demonstrated qualifications, location, and organizational need. The range for this role is $175,000 - $190,000. Salary is one component of the total earnings and rewards package offered.
