Summary

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

The Director of Finance will report directly to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general accounting function. This role will primarily focus on managing all aspects of accounting operations including; month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; technical accounting and policy development; accounts receivable; financial reporting; financial/internal controls; and audit management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily operations across all aspects of general accounting (including monthly/quarterly/year-end close processes, account analysis/reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance), ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards
  • Review journal entries and work products from direct reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Review and approve Concur invoices within assigned workflows
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for the general accounting area, and provide insightful management commentary
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across the organization
  • Lead and manage the annual audit process; serve as the primary liaison during both interim and year-end phases; and streamline information requests
  • Drive process improvements and participate in system upgrades and long-term financial planning to enhance operational efficiencies and automation
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned areas during the upcoming ERP system implementation
  • Mentor and develop team members/direct reports by fostering continuous improvement and career growth. Regularly assess their performance by first identifying strengths and development areas, and then implementing improvement plans through coaching and guidance as needed
  • Oversee and drive special projects and ad-hoc initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required

  • Minimum 10 years accounting experience, including at least 5 in a leadership/supervisory position within large companies
  • Experience managing audits and external auditors
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, and ERP financial software

Education/Certifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
  • MBA/CPA highly preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn and navigate complex ERP systems

SALARY RANGE:

$175-190K

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
