Job Description: As the Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and implementing effective financial controls. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial management within the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making.
Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
