$200,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

Description
We are on the lookout for a skilled Controller to join our team in the public utilities industry, located in City of Industry, California. The primary role of the Controller will be to manage the general and subsidiary ledgers of the company, prepare various analytical studies, and handle financial reports. In addition, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing payables and receivables, and aiding in audit processes.
Responsibilities
Oversee the company's general and subsidiary ledgers
Conduct various analytical studies as required
Generate income and balance sheet statements
Ensure accurate records of earnings, cash balance, and other financial results
Validate and approve monthly journal entries
Review and counter sign checks for payment following company policy
Monitor fixed asset control and calculate depreciation rates and expense
Prepare accruals for anticipated liabilities
Manage and process payables and receivables
Generate general tax reports for payroll and personal property taxes
Prepare monthly federal and state income tax provision and maintain tax liability accounts
Assist in auditing processes
Perform other tasks and duties as directed.
Requirements
Experience working with the California Public Utilities Commission
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
Demonstrable expertise in managing Accounting Functions
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proven track record in Auditing
Familiarity with Budget Processes is required
Knowledge of Utilities within the Service industry
Proficient in Financial Reporting, including Monthly Financial Reporting
Experience in handling Payroll Taxes
CPA certification is a huge plus
