Controller

Renowned Recruitment Group is working with a non-profit client in Los Angeles looking to bring on a full time Controller to their family office team. This person will play an essential role in driving the success of the organization as they will manage financial reporting, tax filings, and provide critical support for short- and long- term financial planning efforts.

This is a great HYBRID position reporting to their downtown Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitors the day-to-day financial function and performance for nonprofit entities including responsibility for all aspects of accounting (internal controls, accounts payable, general ledger review, bank reconciliation review and corporate credit cards)
• Ensures policies and procedures are in place that provide for strong internal controls and adherence to GAAP
• Review and support investment accounting and quarterly reporting
• Adherence to timely and accurate monthly close package review and completion.
• Provides assistance with creating and maintaining annual budget and budget vs. actual reporting
• Coordinate annually with the independent auditors on providing supporting documentation as well as preparation of audit report and footnote disclosures
• Review grant reports and financial data

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• CPA License required
• 7+ years of experience in accounting, ideally with a combination of public and private
• Strong understanding of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting requirements for high-net-worth individuals or family office entities.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (Sage Intacct, Bill.com preferred)
