ONeill Contractors is hiring an additional 2-3 construction field managers who are qualified to serve as Project Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, or Site Safety and Health Officer on federal construction projects. The successful candidate will independently supervise trade contractors with work valued up to $20M. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team.

The fundamental duties of the position are as follows:

  • Report to the Project Manager and carry out their directives with respect to field operations.
  • Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation.

  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors to meet all established milestones. Determine whether subcontractors are providing sufficient workforce and hours of work to achieve productivity commitments.
  • Monitor actual versus required performance by all parties; working to bring deviating performances back in line, and holding subcontractors accountable for proving adequate workforce and supplies of materials to complete their scope of work per the construction schedule.
  • Record attendance and minutes for each meeting presided over. Upload record files to the project folder on the drive and distribute documents via email to necessary stakeholders.
  • Identify and remedy non-compliance with all safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Maintain open communication channels with customer and all stake holders.
  • Supervise self-performance work, ensuring it meets company standards and contract requirements.
  • Promptly respond to project ad-hoc needs.
  • Ensure on-site compliance with project procedures, safety requirements, work rules and company policies, and enforce safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Certification Requirements

  • OSHA-30 Hour
  • EM 385-1-1 40-Hour
  • USACE Construction Quality Management
  • First-Aid and CPR

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 4-8 years of experience on $5-$10 million or larger FEDERAL government construction projects in a Superintendent, Quality Control Manger (QCM), or Site Safety & Health Offiver (SSHO) role
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to collaborate on a daily basis with the project team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of suite of construction software tools, including scheduling software
  • Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Experience and proficiency in multiple divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan
  • Ability to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude
