Sterling Search Partners is helping a growing Construction client with their search for a Project Manager. We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with 3-5 years of experience in overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction processes, project management, budgeting, and communication skills, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Limited travel from Birmingham Corporate office.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
Develop project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure proper project execution.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Budget and Cost Management:
Monitor and manage project budgets, tracking costs and adjusting as necessary to stay within financial constraints.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement solutions to maintain financial health of the project.
Approve and process invoices, ensuring proper billing for completed work.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and motivate construction crews and subcontractors to ensure work meets project specifications and timelines.
Organize daily or weekly team meetings to discuss project progress, address challenges, and ensure smooth operations.
Quality Control and Safety Management:
Enforce high standards of quality and workmanship across all construction activities.
Maintain a strong focus on safety by ensuring all safety protocols are followed on-site and managing safety training for the team.
Conduct regular inspections to identify any potential risks and address them proactively.
Communication and Reporting:
Act as the primary point of contact between clients, subcontractors, and the internal team.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, addressing any issues or changes.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, reports, and change orders.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks to the project’s timeline, budget, and scope.
Develop mitigation plans and strategies to handle delays, changes in project scope, or unforeseen issues.
Resolve conflicts or disputes in a professional and timely manner.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience managing construction projects in a similar industry (commercial, industrial, etc.).
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, or similar).
Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, and contracts.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, LEED, etc.).
Experience with large-scale or complex projects.
