Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Management
Supervise all on-site construction activities from start to finish.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Coordinate and communicate daily with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
Monitor job progress, address delays, and resolve on-site issues proactively.
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient job site.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions.
Ensure workers use proper protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
Document incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.
Quality Control & Problem-Solving
Inspect work for compliance with plans, codes, and quality standards.
Resolve construction issues to maintain project integrity.
Work with architects, engineers, and project managers to address design modifications.
Ensure punch list completion and final project closeout.
Scheduling & Coordination
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion.
Coordinate material deliveries and equipment needs.
Work closely with project managers to track progress and budget adherence.
Lead site meetings with subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily logs of job site activities, progress, and incidents.
Submit reports on job progress, materials, and labor hours.
Ensure proper documentation of inspections, permits, and compliance records.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred).
Five or more years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, blueprints, and specifications.
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
OSHA 30 certification preferred and strong safety knowledge.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions under pressure.
Experience managing subcontractors, budgets, and construction timelines.
Preferred Experience
Experience with commercial projects such as office buildings, retail centers, healthcare facilities, or warehouses.
Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes.
Knowledge of construction technology, including BIM (preferred).
