Civil Field Engineer

Title: Civil Roadwork Inspector

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: Permanent, direct hire

Salary: $90k-$100k (No OT available)

Hours: Will work every Monday-Saturday until May

Must Haves:

• 1-5 years of relevant civil experience
• Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of project team to complete tasks
• Experience with one or all of the following; asphalt, sewar/water main reconstruction, concrete, resurfacing projects within transportation/roadway
• Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Teams
• Proven leadership, communication, collaboration, mentoring and client liaison skills

Pluses:

• Working knowledge of roadway design software used to prepare engineering and design documents including Open Roads and Open Roads Designer (ORD)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• Experience with the Chicago Department of Transportation CDOT, Illinois Tollway, IDOT, or similar State DOT and/or local government agencies developing, delivering, and managing transportation design projects

Day to Day:

• Experience working on a wide variety and complexity of highway related projects.
• Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary.
• Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups, as necessary, to execute project delivery.
• Act as clients representative with the client and subcontractors during project, negotiations, execution and close-out.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits.
