PDF Engineering is a civil engineering firm providing construction services and project management to a variety of public agencies. We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer Designer to join our team and support infrastructure construction projects in Chicago.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design work will focus on roadway reconstruction within the City of Chicago, encompassing researching/analyzing aspects of projects, design of ADA ramps, sidewalks, streets and alleys, storm/sewer drainage design, and utility coordination
Understand client goals, standards and specifications, and communicate effectively
Provide support to project team for all design services, and execution of tasks assigned to generate high quality deliverables and exceed client satisfaction
Assists with quantities and project cost estimates
Attend meetings with project team and clients, prepare notes and exhibits as required
Organize, prepare and maintain project documents
Work with engineers and clients to document and resolve issues
Able to work independently, as well as part of a team, using established and defined procedures
Ability to manage multiple project deadlines
Good organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines set by the program leadership team
Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering required with 2+ years of experience in engineering firm
Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
Experience working with ADA ramp design, standards and specifications required
Experience working with street and alley design and/or planning preferred
Knowledge of CDOT Design criteria/OUC/CDOT standards preferred
Proficiency with MicroStation/GEOPAK
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
Excellent oral and written communication skills
